Pre-hab Vs Rehab?

What are you seeing?

Spotting the symptom is the easy part! But.. what is causing it, what is the potential impact and how can you reduce the risk?

I like to spot the problems before they become chronic injuries and put an end to training and progress and require rehabilitation. That’s why I work closely with with one of the best sports physiotherapist in the country - Mike Gosling (Physiokinetic). With new athletes I always go through their injury history (if they have one) and undertake an assessment of their basic movement skills, posture, running gait etc. Where there are risks they have a full assessment with Mike which often results in the creation of a personalised pre-habilitation programme to activate and strengthen key stabilising muscles, correct or improve movement patterns and ensure the athlete develops the robustness to cope with the demands of their training.

It’s a great three-way partnership between coach, physio and the athlete at the centre. Thanks to the wonders of technology I’m able to attend all such sessions even if i can’t be there in person!
